Janelle Silva Wins UW 2016 Distinguished Teaching Award for UW Bothell
IAS faculty member Janelle Silva has won the 2016 Distinguished Teaching Award for UW Bothell. Only one faculty member from UW Bothell is selected each year, based on a rigorous review of nominations. Janelle’s colleagues and students supported her nomination on the basis of her strong commitment to community engagement as both a goal and method of instruction.

Carrie Bodle and Amaranth Borsuk Receive Juried Award for their Collaborative Installation Wave Signs
IAS faculty members Carrie Bodle and Amaranth Borsuk have received the $10,000 grand prize in the juried exhibition Giant Steps: Artist Residency on the Moon for their collaborative installation Wave Signs. Giant Steps challenged artists to imagine what they could create if they had 48 hours on the lunar surface with one accompanying astronaut to assist them.

Amaranth Borsuk and Carrie Bodle Exhibit Collaborative Installation Wave Signs
For the exhibition Giant Steps: Artist Residency on the Moon, IAS faculty members Amaranth Borsuk and Carrie Bodle have created a proposal for a hypothetical artwork to be installed on the moon and a gallery installation that brings the concept of their work to life.
