Policy Review

Policy Review members are responsible for reviewing and approving proposed policies that are newly developed, revised, or cancelled. 

Policy Approval Process

Developing NEW Administrative Policy:

  1. Department/Unit/Director draft policy 
  1. Director of Administrative Services review/revise  

a. Adhere to UW Bothell policy guidelines (naming/numbering convention)
b. Adhere to State/Local laws
c. Consult UW APS
d. AAG and Risk Services review (if applicable)
e. ASUWB review (if applicable)

3. VCPA review 

a. Discuss with VCPA leadership team

  1. CET review 

a. Provide comments or revisions

  1. Chancellor final approval 

Revising EXISTING Administrative policy:

  1. Establish Task Force (if needed) 

a. Review policy
b. Review revisions and provide feedback
c. Recommend additional stakeholder review (AAG, APS, ASUWB, RS)

2. Update policy

  1. VCPA review and approval 

NOTE: Academic policies adhere to a different approval process.
