Every year, the University of Washington recognizes 100 undergraduate and graduate students from the Bothell, Seattle and Tacoma campuses who have made the most of their time at the UW \u2014 inside and outside the classroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adam Chhor<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

My Husky experience has centered on building bridges and connecting with others across different disciplines. Through my roles as an undergraduate researcher, developer lead for robotics and Study Abroad ambassador, I\u2019ve been surrounded by amazing people from diverse backgrounds, each offering opportunities to learn and grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a Mexican, Yaqui, first-generation college student, I am proud to be a representative of my communities on both the Seattle and Bothell campuses. Throughout my educational journey, pursuing a bachelor\u2019s at UW Seattle and now a master\u2019s at UW Bothell, I have made a concerted effort to help students leverage their stories and experiences to inform their futures, as my mentors did for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am honored to be selected as a Husky 100 recipient, one dedicated to uplifting underrepresented students and continuing the Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity legacy of cultivating tomorrow\u2019s leaders at the University of Washington.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Maleah Haverly<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

senior: Psychology<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am honored to be recognized as a Husky 100 recipient for my commitment to disability advocacy and student support. As co-founder and vice president of the Disability and Neurodivergent Advocacy Awareness Alliance, I have worked to ensure that disabled students do not have to choose between their education and their well-being, including advocacy events and presenting our research on accessibility at the 2024 足彩app哪个是正规的 Academic Showcase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, as a peer coach, I have supported more than 100 first-year students in their transition to the University by helping them set goals, coordinate care plans with their professors and access essential resources.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

As an innovator with a strong work ethic, I have a deep passion for creating, building and making the most of every opportunity. Throughout my time at UW Bothell, I have embraced challenges across leadership, technology and community initiatives by turning ideas into impact while continually pushing my boundaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before becoming a Husky, I lived in a haze of uncertainty, constantly measuring myself against societal ideals. But UW Bothell gave me space to rediscover my voice and reignite my purpose. As a first-generation student, I transformed my hardships into advocacy \u2014 designing a culturally responsive psychology textbook and championing Black student empowerment through the Black 足彩app哪个是正规的 Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My time at UW Bothell has continued to ignite a flame of advocacy within me. Whether it be in class or working in Residential Life, I am inspired by peers who encourage me to challenge systems that we know can be more equitable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My experience at UW Bothell has empowered me to continue to advocate for and work with my communities to create more equitable spaces that uplift and serve them.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

While I have had several amazing opportunities and experiences, such as my software engineering internship, my research in gravitational wave astronomy and having been a full-time Running Start student, my greatest accomplishment is my ability to navigate my struggles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am proud to be a part of the Husky 100 because I have never given up, despite having difficulty finding my voice, belonging and managing a high workload as someone prone to burnout. As my UW journey comes to an end, I hold my experiences close to my heart and know that whatever comes next, I can overcome it, too.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

As a first-generation student, I came to UW Bothell with limited resources but a deep desire to make the most of every opportunity. Through clubs, programs and other leadership opportunities, the UW has given me the chance to explore new fields and also encouraged me to give back to the community that supported me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m passionate about empowering underrepresented students, creating spaces where they can thrive and using technology to drive positive change, something I look forward to continuing throughout my career.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
