\n\tEvery year, University of Washington undergraduates from all three campuses present their work at the Undergraduate Research Symposium. At the same time, participants are asked to nominate an outstanding faculty research mentor. This year, our very own Professor Douglas Wacker was among five other research mentors to receive the prestigious University of Washington Undergraduate Research Mentor Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\tWacker is no stranger to bringing meaningful experiences while mentoring successful students at UW Bothell. Recently, three UW Bothell students studied the behavior of crows under his mentorship. All three student researchers were awarded scholarships to the annual Society for North Western Vertebrae Biology regional meeting<\/a>, where they presented their research on crow vocalizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\tWacker\u2019s research and work with undergraduate students engages students and reflects UW Bothell\u2019s commitment to high impact learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\tThat commitment is shared among all faculty at UW Bothell. On May 8, 2015, this campus also held an Undergraduate Research Symposium and award ceremony for faculty mentors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
