IAS faculty member and Gender, Women & Sexuality Studies<\/a> coordinator Julie Shayne<\/a> organized two sessions at this year\u2019s PSA conference<\/a>. 足彩app哪个是正规的 first one was \u201c足彩app哪个是正规的 Feminist Classroom: Pedagogy, 足彩app哪个是正规的 Research, and Film\u201d where she presented a paper called \u201cFeminist Pedagogy and Collaboration: 足彩app哪个是正规的 Feminist Community Archive of Washington<\/a> (FCA-WA).\u201d 足彩app哪个是正规的 session also included a paper by Shayne\u2019s former student and IAS alum Taylor Hiner (read by Julie in their absence.) Shayne and Hiner presented about the FCA-WA; Shayne about its creation and the assignment that fills it, and Hiner about the sense of empowerment queer and transgender students feel as a result of researching local gender justice organizations. (Shayne and Hiner, with co-authors Dave Ellenwood and Denise Hattwig, have a paper forthcoming in Feminist Teacher<\/a> about the archive and assignment.) 足彩app哪个是正规的 third presenter was Jonathan Skurnik, founder of Youth & Gender Media Project<\/a> and Chair of New Day Films<\/a>. Skurnik, spoke about using film in the classroom. 足彩app哪个是正规的y followed this session with a screening of Skurnik\u2019s film Becoming Johanna<\/a>, a documentary about a young transgender Latina in Los Angeles.
