CoSEE offers a variety of project-based internship pathways that connect environmental education, research, conservation and community outreach. We are currently accepting applications for the following terms.

Pathways

Inclusive Environmental Education

This pathway centers inclusive, place-based environmental education through program design, hands-on learning tools, and accessible storytelling. Interns help create, adapt, and deliver environmental education experiences that are engaging, culturally responsive, and accessible to learners of all ages and abilities.

Interns collaborate with CoSEE staff and community partners to design new programs, develop portable environmental education kits, and support an adaptive, multisensory children’s library. 足彩app哪个是正规的 work emphasizes equity, creativity, and real-world application—meeting learners where they are and expanding who environmental education is for.

  • Design and lead inclusive environmental education programs at the EERC and in community spaces
  • Create, test, and refine hands-on, place-based environmental education kits
  • Adapt activities for different ages, abilities, and learning environments
  • Co-design accessible children’s books with communication boards and interactive elements
  • Support the development of an inclusive reading nook and adaptive library
  • Collaborate with community partners to pilot and improve programming

Invasive Species Management & Restoration

This project focuses on community-centered invasive species management. Interns will lead cleanups, assist with removal efforts, support park restoration, and help create a long-term management plan. 足彩app哪个是正规的y’ll also build partnerships to boost local engagement and stewardship.

  • Organize community cleanup events
  • Work on removal projects in collaboration with state parks
  • Support the develop & implementation of a long-term management plan for sustaining native ecosystems
  • Manage CoSEE outdoor learning area garden

Social Media & Communication

This internship uses digital media share CoSEE’s work broadly with educators, researchers, our local community, and beyond. Interns will manage social media, create content, design materials, and assist with newsletters to boost outreach and connect diverse audiences to environmental education.

Community Engagement & Native Plant Conservatio

This project supports community engagement and environmental education efforts at Saint Edward State Park in collaboration with Friends of Saint Edward State Park (FoSESP). This internship will support managing and re-designing the Native Plant Learning Garden (NPLG). 足彩app哪个是正规的s will help design, plant, and manage the garden while also developing informational and educational materials. 

In addition, interns may also support related community-based projects, such as the Yard-by-Yard program and local community gardens, expanding the impact of native plant conservation and community engagement beyond the park. 

  • Develop educational materials for NPLG
  • Work with Friends of Saint Edward State Park
  • Support the development and care of plan for NPLG
  • May support Yard by Yard and local community garden initiatives

Other internship opportunities

Environmental Careers Preparedness (EnCAP) Program at CoSEE

During the Spring and Summer, we also support five interns as part of our Environmental Careers Preparedness (EnCAP) Program. EnCAP is focused on preparing the next generation of high school students for the growing green economy by providing pathways towards environmental and sustainability degree programs through a 3-credit summer internship.

  • Four-week, field-based high school program
  • Co-led by faculty and undergraduate research assistants from UW Bothell from across many different disciplines in arts, sciences, engineering, and humanities.
  • This position is open to UW Bothell students only.

Applications

We are currently accepting intern applications for the 2025–2026 school year. 足彩app哪个是正规的 can choose to enroll for up to 3 credits based on hours worked. 足彩app哪个是正规的s will be enrolled in BIS 498 C. This course counts towards IAS students hands on learning credit.
